New for 2010
The Wootton Bassett Arts Festival are pleased to be introducing a new range of Art and Photography classes in 2010 including:
- Painting/Drawing for all ages
- Photography for all ages
- A 3-D Artwork section
- A “Just for Fun” section which includes designing the WBAF 2010 Christmas Card
Art Launch
You may also be interested to know that we will be holding an Art Section Launch event at the Civic Centre, Wootton Bassett on Tuesday 30th March starting at 7.00pm. This is a chance for you to meet other people from the local area and have a chat over a glass of wine and canapes. We will also be joined on the evening by the presenter of Swindon 105.5’s Art2Art programme Jon Ratcliffe. He will tell us a little about the programme and also be keen to hear about your work. PLEASE NOTE the Art Section will now take place on SATURDAY 12th JUNE at the CIVIC CENTRE, Station Road, Wootton Bassett and not on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June as printed in the Syllabus (the online edition has been altered).
Artwork which is unsuitable for posting may be delivered direct to the Civic Centre on Friday 11th June (2.00pm – 7.00pm). However, your entry form and fee are still required by the closing date of 23rd April. Please clearly indicate on your entry form that you will be delivering your work in person on 11th June.
Entries will be displayed between 10am and 3.00pm for the public to vote for the best work in each Class. Winners will be indicated by a Rosette attached to their work from 3.30pm onwards. At 6.00pm Mr. Paul Deacon will Adjudicate the final three Category Winners who will be presented with their Trophies. Mr. Deacon will then nominate an overall finalist to be awarded The Chairman’s Cup for Art at the Concert on Monday14th June at the Memorial Hall, Station Road, Wootton Bassett.
